These set of courses help renavigate Islamic education in the modern context:

  1. We will explore the philosophy behind Islamic education, and rebuild our philosophy for the outcomes we are seeking.
  2. We will holistically discuss the challenges and difficulties that our Young Muslims face.
  3. We will critically explore the foundations of religion to understand what will create confidence, conviction, and courage in our young Muslims.
  4. Finally, we will look at the Quran as the means of achieving religious results.

Philosophy of Islamic Education

The following course discusses the goals and objectives of Islamic education and helps you and your institute develop a philosophy of education with the Islamic goals of ta’leem. The course will explore the concept of tarbiyyah, ta’dib as supplementary methods to ta’leem; the concepts of tazkiyyah and taqwa as the outcomes of ta’leem.

Environmental Ecology

Understanding the Challenges & Context of Young Muslims

The course explores the drastic change in society because of economics (capitalism), social trends (rising nationalism and islamophobia), technology (internet of things), environment (global warming), media (social media, games, entertainment programming), politics, legislations (cannabis issue), and changing ethics (social acceptability of sexual preferences). Students will be required to analyze the ecology in light of the Islamic social framework.

Usul al-Din – Foundations of Religion

Presented critically and discussed as means to problem solving

The following course reflects on the reason for apathy towards religion and seeks to select and reexplore what we understand as fundamental to provide solid grounding to young Muslims. The course discusses why certain arguments are insufficient and what is foundational thinking required to battle the onslaught of attacks against Islam with conviction and confidence. The course will discuss conflict between reason and revelation, ideological reasoning, how shari’ah is derived, objectives of shari’ah, and finally the importance of fiqh of priorities.

Quranic Transformational Leadership

How the Quran Raised the Greatest Generation

This course will teach you how to effectively influence change and transform communities through Quranic methodologies. You will learn how to re-imagine change by redefining the change problem and developing a balanced and reflective change mindset.
